| What are my elected Representatives doing? |
|
This question has gone unanswered for a long time. While the data exists on various websites published both by the Government as well as the third parties, this data has never been cohesive, and perhaps more unfortunately, actionable. GovCheck aims to bridge that gap.
We are working hard on bringing data about the work being done by your elected representatives, from various sources such as the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and the Election Commission of India websites. By doing this, we hope to allow our users to view data from a broader perspective, pick up on trends, analyse the direction the country is taking and much more. As and when we add additional data (from the Census Beaureau of India's website, for example) we hope to increase our users' ability to find out more about their government and eleced representatives and make a better decision the next time they step into a polling booth. |
| How can I take action? |
|
However, we also realise that just giving you information is not enough. We also need to give you a way to do something about it. Currently, this means users can create petitions and then invite others to sign it. This is intended as a tool to raise awareness about spcific issues and also force people related to that issue to take action.
In the future, we plan to add tools that will allow you to contact your elected representative directly, list policy issues and invite people to vote for them. We are also very eager to get input from you, so if you feel there is a feature you would like to suggest, please let us know. |
